Only shows GRUB _"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p> When you see the following prompt with a blinking cursor instead of your RHEL 5 (Or CentOS\/Scientific Linux v5 obviously) server booting, you will have in all likelihood have to re-install GRUB. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">GRUB _<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: Insert a copy of your RHEL DVD (or mount the ISO if this is a virtual machine)<\/strong>&nbsp;Make sure your machine is set to boot<br \/>from the DVD\/CDROM drive<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: When you get to the boot screen, type the following and press enter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">linux rescue<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>You will have to answer a few basic questions. The last question will ask whether you want to mount as \u2018read-only\u2019. Be sure NOT to mount as \u2018read-only\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3: When prompt appears, change to real root (\u2018\/\u2019) on your hard disk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><strong>chroot<\/strong> <strong>\/<\/strong>mnt<strong>\/<\/strong>sysimage<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4: Run the following command to re-install grub<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><em># Replace 'sda' with the device name of the drive you want to boot from.
